DeKalb County Cares
Our mission is to help facilitate a positive relationship between the children of DeKalb County and the Deputies who serve in the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
Children who encounter a Deputy during a domestic dispute, car accident, or other tragedy are usually in a state of trauma. A simple book can open the door to communication and trust.
Our goal is simple…to help comfort the children of DeKalb County during an emotionally fragile time.

Ret Sgt 7 is Harold L Overton. He served the community of DeKalb County as a Sergeant for the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office. Harold passed away in September of 2015. His family continues to help the community he proudly served for 22 years.
This is their way to continue his legacy.
